Congratulations to Terry White, a South Gloucestershire Council apprentice, who secured a prestigious award at this year’s Public Sector People Managers’ Association (PPMA) apprentice of the year awards.
Terry recently completed his Level 2 Business Administration apprenticeship and was recognised for the award because of his appetite for learning and his commitment to his role and career. All the shortlisted apprentices took part in a two-day assessment centre at Warwick University, which included a series of group activities and individual exercises, culminating in a short presentation.
Whilst Terry didn’t scoop the big prize, he delivered an exceptional presentation on the final day of the competition and was presented with an Outstanding Development award.
Upon receiving his award Terry said: “To have my development recognised by the judges was a wonderful way to finish. My time with South Gloucestershire Council has been amazing, and through hard work and the support of my colleagues I have been able to achieve far more than I’d ever thought possible.”
And following the awards, there has been further good news for Terry as he recently secured a permanent role with the council as an Education, Employment and Training (EET) Tracking Assistant.
