Apprentice path highlighted

With students receiving their A-level results, the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has pointed youngsters toward the apprenticeship option as they look to the future. FSB national chairman Mike Cherry said: “While A-level results day always brings talk of university places, we should not forget the value of practical, vocational education to employers and individuals.” He added that vocational training is an “increasingly attractive” option for those keen to earn as they learn, while also noting that 24% of FSB members say they are considering employing an apprentice in the future. He concludes that an apprenticeship is “a great way to start your working life,” with 67% of apprentices going on to longer term employment in the business.
