Elleney Threader has recently completed a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business Administration at SGS College.
Elleney commence her apprenticeship in May 2014 undertaking the Level 2 qualification at Bristol City Council. She enjoyed it so much she decided to stay on and progress to the level 3.
Her role at the Council, as a Workforce Development Officer, has now enabled her to gain employment in a private company on the completion of the work-based qualification.
She commented: “I have recently gained a new job in a private company doing something very similar to my current role and I believe it will be a great career move for me as I will be able to widen my skill set. I cannot wait to start.”
The 23 year old from St George chose the apprenticeship route as she thought it would be the best was to gain a qualification as she never enjoyed classroom learning and never wanted to go to university.
Elleney commented about her experience: “I enjoyed both NVQs as they really challenged me and also I was able gain a qualification whilst learning. I liked the college environment as it was very relaxed and the class had a mixture of Level 2 & Level 3 which meant the tutor taught most of the classes at Level 3 level in case any Level 2 students then went on to do Level 3.
“South Gloucestershire Council is a great employer as they have given me many great opportunities. I really enjoy working in my team as we all trust each other and work very well together.”
